Angelique Vincent-Hamacher Receives North Carolina Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award

Angelique Vincent-Hamacher received the Citizen Lawyer Award at the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) annual meeting in Asheville, N.C. The Citizen Lawyer Award was established in 2007 to recognize lawyers who provide exemplary public service to their communities.

Vincent-Hamacher currently serves on the Carolinas HealthCare System board of commissioners and is directly involved in system decisions impacting the health and welfare of the community, including the indigent. She serves on the board of directors of Crisis Assistance Ministry and on the South Carolina advisory committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. Vincent-Hamacher also serves on the board of directors for The Center for Community Transitions, Inc. (formerly ECO, Inc.), which supports citizens with criminal records seeking full engagement in society and employment. She is a 2008 Leadership Charlotte graduate, and, consistent with her dedication to serving those in need, she previously served on the boards of Charlotte Emergency Housing and the National Conference for Community and Justice.

In addition to the time she devotes to board service, Vincent-Hamacher volunteers and provides pro bono legal service to numerous nonprofit organizations throughout North Carolina. She also has served as an adjunct professor of sociology at Clinton Junior College, a historically black college in Rock Hill, S.C.

Vincent-Hamacher maintains a successful practice focused in employment law, alternative dispute resolution and litigation. Her previous service as co-chair of Robinson Bradshaw’s Inclusion Committee and as a member of the Recruiting Committee helped cultivate an atmosphere of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She is a certified Superior Court mediator for parties in employment disputes and serves as general counsel to the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce executive committee.

An active member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Mecklenburg County Bar, Vincent-Hamacher has received numerous awards and recognition. Super Lawyers recently named her one of the Top 50 2015 Women North Carolina Super Lawyers, North Carolina Lawyers Weekly named her a 2014 Leader in the Law, and she was named to Charlotte Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” in 2010. Vincent-Hamacher has also been recognized by Benchmark Litigation and The Best Lawyers in America© for litigation – labor and employment.

Vincent-Hamacher earned her law degree in 2000 from Harvard Law School, where she was both a member of Harvard Society for Law and Ethics and coached the Harvard Cheerleading team. She graduated summa cum laude from Duke University in 1997.
