J. Dickson Phillips III, an attorney with Robinson Bradshaw in the firm’s Research Triangle office, has been reappointed by Gov. Beverly Perdue to a second six-year term on the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission.

The Commission is responsible for adopting rules for the protection, preservation and enhancement of the state's air and water resources, and oversees and adopts rules for several divisions of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, including the Divisions of Air Quality, Water Quality and Water Resources.

Phillips currently serves as the chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee and also serves on the Water Quality and Water Allocation committees.

In his work with Robinson Bradshaw, Phillips practices primarily in civil and commercial litigation, contract law, intellectual property, land use and dispute resolution. He also serves as an adjunct professor of law at University of North Carolina School of Law.
