Julian H. Wright Jr. Appointed to North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission

Julian H. Wright Jr. was appointed to the North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission by North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark D. Martin. Wright will serve as a practicing lawyer member until December 2016. He will complete the term of Kearns Davis, who recently became president-elect of the North Carolina Bar Association.

The Equal Access to Justice Commission aims to expand access to the civil justice system for people of low income and modest means in North Carolina by coordinating the delivery of civil legal aid services. The Commission was established in 2005 and is structured to represent the diverse ethnic, gender, legal and geographic communities across the state.

Wright is active in pro bono work, especially with domestic violence protection, landlord-tenant and criminal post-conviction matters, and he received the North Carolina Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award in 2014. His practice at Robinson Bradshaw focuses on employment law, business litigation and securities disputes, and he also co-chairs the firm’s Employment & Labor Practice Group. Wright is certified as a Superior Court mediator.

Wright earned both his law degree and master’s of divinity degree in 1992 from Vanderbilt University. A Phi Beta Kappa, he graduated from Davidson College magna cum laude in 1987.
