Allen K. Robertson, an attorney with Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A., one of the Carolinas’ leading corporate and commercial law firms, assumed the role of president of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) at its annual meeting in Chicago on Sept. 25. Robertson will serve a one-year term as president followed by an additional year on the NABL Board of Directors as immediate past president.
Robertson was elected to serve as president-elect of NABL in 2012, after serving on the NABL Board of Directors in 2008-09 and 2010-12.
Robertson is actively involved in Robinson Bradshaw’s public finance, banking, bankruptcy, and health care practices. He has also served as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, bank counsel, and borrower counsel in a variety of tax-exempt bond issues.
He received his bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar, and he earned his law degree from Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel and is regularly included among annual national and regional peer group rankings, including Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White Inc. and North Carolina Super Lawyers. Robertson also holds an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
