Mentoring & Integration

At Robinson Bradshaw, all new associates participate in a firm-wide rotation upon their arrival. We believe going through a rotation not only integrates new associates by giving them the opportunity to work with attorneys throughout the firm, it also makes them better lawyers by exposing them to varying types and categories of projects. New associates are encouraged to work in different areas of the firm’s practice and gradually move into specific practice areas after one year to eighteen months with the firm.

In addition, all new associates are assigned a “first year” mentor upon their arrival. This mentor helps the new associate meet people within the firm and acts as a general sounding board for questions regarding work assignments, career development or any other issue that might arise. Once new associates join a department, they are assigned mentors within that department who work with them as long as they remain associates.
