Mr. Brackett is a member of our litigation department. His practice is focused on the representation of individuals in catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims and in white collar criminal matters.
He has served as lead counsel in numerous court actions for catastrophically injured individuals and for the families of wrongful death victims. These actions have included claims arising out of the negligent operation of motor vehicles and aircraft together with product related negligence claims. Mr. Brackett has recently served as lead counsel for victims injured as a result of the collapse of a pedestrian bridge at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Mr. Brackett is featured in the area of personal injury law in the most current edition of the Woodward/White, The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Brackett also has extensive experience in the area of white collar criminal matters including the representation of individuals and businesses who are the victims of fraud and other criminal acts. Mr. Brackett was co-lead counsel for the plaintiff in a landmark case before the North Carolina Appeals Courts which established the rights of employers to recover treble damages and attorney’s fees in civil actions arising out of bribery of employees. Mr. Brackett is featured in the area of criminal law in the most current edition of the Woodward/White, The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Brackett is a Certified Superior Court Mediator and is a frequent lecturer to various Bar and judicial organizations on litigation-related topics.
Mr. Brackett is the author of numerous Continuing Legal Education Manuscripts on various litigation topics.
