Mr. Efird’s practice areas include sports and entertainment law, fund formation and investment management, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. He has provided legal counsel to numerous motorsports teams, drivers, owners, sponsors, agents, crew members, and licensors. His experience includes creation, negotiation, interpretation and dispute resolution with respect to driver agreements, sponsorship agreements, personal services and endorsement agreements, license agreements, engine lease and servicing agreements, race car and race team servicing agreements, and other types of motorsports arrangements. In addition, Mr. Efird’s experience in the mergers and acquisitions arena includes the formation, purchase and sale of motorsports teams, creation of joint venture and servicing arrangements, and the purchase and sale of privately held companies with strategic and financial investors and sellers.
Mr. Efird also has experience advising institutional investors in private investment funds and advising private investment funds and their managers in connection with their formation and their subsequent investments, both domestic and foreign, in venture capital and private equity buyout funds, direct investments in portfolio companies, and purchases of limited partnership interests in secondary market transactions.
