A recent North Carolina Lawyers Weekly article about the importance of pro bono work featured Robinson Bradshaw and its attorneys’ commitment to giving back.

The article shared that pro bono work has been a core ideal of Robinson Bradshaw since its founding in 1960, creating “a rich history of seeking to meet the legal needs of the indigent and economically disadvantaged” that ranges from single attorneys handling an individual dispute to teams of lawyers advancing critical questions of justice at the highest level of courts.

Robinson Bradshaw’s director of pro bono services Blaine Sanders spoke about the intangible rewards that come with working for pro bono clients.

“I say that pro bono lawyers are happier lawyers,” Sanders said. “You get something out of it that’s different from what you get out of doing complex business work. You get a lot more God-bless-you’s from your pro bono clients.”

The publication also spoke with firm attorney Desirae Williams, who recently won a Pro Bono Hero Award from Legal Aid of North Carolina for representing pro bono a tenant in a case against their predatory landlord.

“It makes more of a difference than most can imagine,” she said of pro bono work.

The article, “Freely given legal services provide a unique return,” is available here.
