In multidistrict litigation in the Northern District of Illinois, Robinson Bradshaw secured the dismissal of eight individual putative class action cases against the Southeastern Conference in which the plaintiffs alleged that the Conference had employed insufficient concussion safety protocols. The presiding federal judge ruled that the originating courts in all eight cases lacked personal jurisdiction over the SEC and denied plaintiffs’ request to transfer the cases to a venue that would have jurisdiction, explaining that an MDL court does not have that transfer authority.

Robinson Bradshaw attorneys Robert W. Fuller, Stephen M. Cox and Richard C. Worf represent the SEC in this case.
