Robert W. Allen has been appointed Vice Chair of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. The Real Property Section, with more than 2,000 members, oversees the copyrighted real estate forms and a five-volume forms book relating to real property law; is active in the area of consumer protection; sponsors CLE programs and services; provides members with a substantive newsletter; and helps mold the association's legislative agenda for presentation to the N.C. General Assembly.
Mr. Allen, who joined the firm in 1996, is a Specialist in Real Property Law: Business, Commercial, Industrial and Residential Transactions by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He has served on the Real Property Section Council for the previous four years, serving as Treasurer last year. He is a member of the Real Property Section of the Mecklenburg County Bar, which he chaired from 2001-2003, and a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Allen practices in the area of commercial real estate, focusing on title examinations and certifications; acquisitions; sales; leasing; financing and foreclosures; and residential development and sales.
