Mr. Bryan has more than 25 years of experience in a broad range of commercial matters. For the last 15 years, he has concentrated his practice in the intellectual property area. He has extensive experience in acquisitions, joint ventures and licenses involving patents, trademarks, know-how, software and other intellectual property, in both domestic and international transactions. Mr. Bryan is also experienced generally in advising clients in the development of programs for protecting proprietary rights and for complying with privacy laws and regulations.
During the last few years, Mr. Bryan has represented a publicly traded company in the telecommunications area. He has been responsible for the intellectual property aspects of the co-purchase of a division of a public technology company for approximately $2.5 billion and the formation of a joint venture with a Japanese company to hold and operate the purchased assets, and for the subsequent purchase of a telecommunications equipment division from another public company for approximately $250 million in cash and stock. He is now involved in implementing a multi-million dollar patent licensing program.
He has been involved for many years in assisting a large insurance company in licensing and developing multiple software products required to automate selling and claims processing, as well as assisting a privately held company in acquiring and licensing the technology and trademarks required to assemble a multi-million dollar program of filtration products sold through major merchandisers.
