Mr. Johnson practices in the areas of joint ventures, derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and energy. He has worked with large and small clients in structuring and negotiating joint ventures, including start-up businesses, international ventures, joint ownership of energy generation facilities, and health-care projects. Mr. Johnson's derivatives practice covers a range of products, including call spreads, foreign exchange currency transactions, commodity swaps and basis rate and interest rate swap transactions. His M&A practice has involved purchases and sales of companies and assets in the energy (both traditional and alternative), construction, leasing, mining and manufacturing areas.
Mr. Johnson advises clients on general issues of corporation and LLC law, and he presently serves on the North Carolina Bar Association's Joint Legislative Task Force to consider and propose amendments to the North Carolina Limited Liability Company Act.
